A certified Level 2 ASP Electrician is someone who has completed additional training. This course prepares them for installations and repairs of equipment directly connected to the main electrical grid on the street pole. Given the serious nature of this work, additional knowledge and skill are required to ensure safety. Under the Electricity Supply Act of 1995, an electrician can seek a Level 2 ASP certification, one of the three levels where he can expand his skills. Apart from this certification, they must first be insured and licensed per NSW Fair Trading. An NSW electrician license is obtained after completing the basic training and real-world experience through apprenticeship.
